Seems this needs updating to accommodate the D850, D780, D610, etc. Newer cameras have more potentially incompatible features than older cameras. These lenses focus by wire: an electronic stepper motor in the lens moves the focus back and forth. These are what I've seen myself. The F5 manual says it works, too. I own several pieces of Sigma art and they are all great lenses. All VR lenses are either traditional screw-type AF or AF-S, in which column you'll see how the other features work. Thank you!

You can use these, but will need to recalculate the exposure and shoot at only the smallest aperture, or more adventurous but dangerous, jam something into the spring-loaded stop-down lever in the back of the lens to keep the G lens open to a more practical or full aperture and meter accordingly.
